Templates

This book contains a framework, illustrated on the bottom of the homepage and linked below as the "Summary Chart" 0f six key categories of questions in conflict assessment process that link directly to decisions relevant to planning.

WHERE is the conflict taking place?  Are governance institutions functioning?

WHO is driving the conflict and who is supporting peace?

WHY are the key actors motivated to drive and mitigate conflict?

WHAT are the driving and mitigating factors?

HOW are key actors driving or mitigating conflict? With what means?

WHEN did the conflict escalate or deescalate in the past and what is the forecast for future windows of opportunity or vulnerability?

Each of the chapters in the book outlines a variety of exercises and conceptual frameworks for gathering information on each of these 6 questions.

Linked below are templates used in each of the 6 categories that can be used to illustrate information in practical exercises and as diagrams for the presentation of a conflict assessment.  Researchers and students can download these blank templates to use when working on a conflict assessment.
